Contest Format and Scoring System:

Points are awarded based on consistency and technicality.  A basic trick gets 1 point, technical tricks receive 2 points.

There will be 3 judges at each contest.  Each judge will have their own tally sheet to keep their own score.

Skaters will receive one run of one minute.  The top six finishers of the first run will get a seond run.  (Note: There will be no second run in the 6 & under Division.)

Both runs including "bonus points"will be averaged to get the total points for the skater.  The skater with the most points wins the contest.

Ties will be broken by "bonus point" total.  If there is a tie on "bonus points" the skaters will have a one minute "skate-off" with winners being decided by the judges based upon number of tricks, technicality of tricks, and style.

Series points will be awarded at each contest and are based solely upon contest results.  1st place will receive 6 points, 2nd place will receive 5 points, 3rd place 4 points and so on.  Every participant will receive 1 point for participating, regardless of the outcome of the contest.  At the last contest of the series, the total series points will be calculated to award an overall Monster Skate Series Champion for each division.

Disruptive or inappropriate behavior will result in an automatic disqualification.
